"An ancient, romantic, and sad myth featured two young people from opposing shores. The sweet Hero, a priestess of Aphrodite, lived on the Hellespont side, and on the opposite coast was Leander, a handsome young man with a vigorous physique who suffered from love for her.

When Leander discovered that his feelings for the beautiful woman were reciprocated, he made a habit, at dusk, of swimming across the channel.

All night long they exchanged tender words of love. So tender and sweet that nothing could compare to their Dream of Love. Melodious words that seemed to exude bliss. At dawn, exhausted, Leander repeated the crossing of the channel in the opposite direction.

Every evening Hero placed a lamp in her room window, to help her beloved not get lost in the darkness. Unfortunately, on a windy night, without Hero noticing, the flame went out. Leander, disoriented, got lost and drowned among the waves. The priestess, distraught with grief, took her own life by throwing herself from the tower where she lived confined.
