PERRIS MONTE CARLO VETIVER JAVA EAU DE PARFUM 50ml

“Vetiver”: the sound is so French it’s misleading. In reality, "vettiveru" is the Tamil name for a plant with long roots, also prized as a textile material. From these roots, an amber essential oil is extracted through distillation. The origins, therefore, take us to southern India, but for Perris Monte Carlo's Vetiver, we were looking for a special olfactory experience. After smelling the most commonly used varieties, which come from the Antilles - Haiti and Bourbon - we ventured to ancient Java. The largest and most populous island of the Sunda archipelago still retains some of its mysterious aura. Perhaps it's the proximity of large, still active volcanoes: the fact is that Javanese vetiver doesn't have the clean linearity of its relatives. On the contrary, it is pungent, edgy, smoky, and almost burnt, with sudden green, floral, and spicy nuances. The resulting fragrance is perfect for those who face today's challenges: a woody and intense heart that opens into light floral notes.
