Description
The port of Buena Ventura, a Colombian city on the Pacific
Ocean, was once the main port of call and embarkation for
goods from Europe and nearby Asia, destined for Spanish
ports. Immersed in wild and untouched nature, the Pacific
coast of Nueva Granada remained uninhabited for a long time
and at the mercy of dangerous pirate gangs.
BAHIA contains the essences with which the vessels sailing
in these troubled waters were laden: precious cargoes of
spices, ointments, fruits, and plants, unknown in Europe, and
therefore sought after and desired by all European courts.
