EGYPT is one of the most precious fragrances created by Albert Fouquet. In 1935, Albert decided to keep a promise he had made to his childhood friend Ahmed: to visit him and, at the same time, fulfill one of his dreams. Albert was fascinated by ancient Egyptian culture, and during his visit to his friend in Egypt, he enjoyed long tours of the Great Pyramid of Giza, as well as the temples of Luxor and Hatshepsut. For Albert Fouquet, the journey was also an opportunity to reach the native land of perfume. He rediscovered those essences that had been in use for millennia. His curiosity led him to discover the extraordinarily aromatic contents stored in jars that were offered to deities to protect pharaohs, or those used to satisfy the revered Cleopatra. The moment Albert entered his friend Ahmed's home, the journey was enriched by the impressive garden of his friend's villa, which contained dozens of flowers unknown to Albert. Albert was overwhelmed by new sensations, and unable to extend his already long journey, he organized a new trip four months later with the precise intention of finding a special perfume. After many weeks of intense work at Ahmed's home, Albert Fouquet selected the final details of the new composition at his family castle in Paris. EGYPT became part of his private collection of exclusive perfumes.
