The fragrance opens with an explosion of peach blossom - a mystical fruit in Taoist mythology, considered the elixir of life. The heart is an intense and intoxicating bouquet: peony (in Chinese tradition, the flower of love and pleasure) blends with sweet and creamy gardenia, sensual tuberose, and inviting patchouli, which adds a pungent touch to the floral notes. The lingering base reveals notes of cardamom (an ancient oriental spice, long used in culinary tradition) and dark woods, reminiscent of the scent of lacquered and inlaid Chinese boxes.

The Chinatown bottle is decorated all around with a plum blossom design that echoes the style of traditional satin cheongsam dresses. In Chinese mythology, the blooming of the plum blossom is the first sign of spring's arrival and thus symbolizes a period of awakening and romantic love. Furthermore, as a tribute to the yin-yang tradition, on one side of the bottle, the flowers are iridescent pearl-coloured on an intense fuchsia background, while on the other side the same design appears in inverted colours.
