Respingeva di continuo interessanti proposte per commercializzarla.                                         Una sera, durante le vacanze estive del 1937 sulla Costa Azzurra, simpatizzò con un giovane studente nordamericano che percorreva la Francia su un’auto decappottabile: John F. K. Pochi minuti dopo essere stati presentati, un presuntuoso JFK si era già invaghito dell’essenza utilizzata da Albert. La simpatia che John emanava convinse Albert a lasciargli, la mattina seguente in hotel, un esemplare della sua anonima acqua di colonia, con un biglietto:”In questo flacone troverai la dose di glamour francese che manca alla tua simpatia americana”.                                                           Di ritorno dalle sue vacanza, Albert ricevette una lettera di John dagli Stati Uniti che lo ringraziava e gli comunicava il successo che il suo profumo aveva riscosso tra i suoi amici. Gli chiedeva di inviarli 8 esemplari,”...e, se la sua produzione lo consente, ancora un altro per Bob”. Albert, senza riuscire a comprendere esattamente la richiesta, decise di inviargli una scatola piena di campioni per compensare i costi del trasporto. Il suo spirito perfezionista si estendeva non solo al profumo, ma a tutto quello che poteva accompagnarlo. Provvide alla commissione solo dopo che Philippe ebbe trovato in una farmacia parigina alcuni flaconi di cristallo che Albert giudicò idonei per la sua fragranza. Ordinò alcune scatole che riproducevano la stessa fantasia della camicia indossata da JFK quando lo aveva conosciuto. Infine, etichettò flaconi e scatole con la simpatica richiesta di John:”EIGHT \u0026amp; BOB”.                                            Alcuni mesi dopo, non volle crederci quando, in un breve arco di tempo, iniziò a ricevere lettere dagli USA con richieste inviate da diversi registi, produttori e attori di Hollywood come Cary Grant o James Stewart. Tutti volevano la colonia “EIGHT \u0026amp; BOB” che, a quanto pareva, avevano scoperto tramite il padre di John, il quale aveva rapporti con note star, visto il suo recente passato imprenditoriale nell’industria del cinema. Purtroppo, il successo della sua colonia non potè estendersi molto di più. Nella primavera del 1939, Albert morì in un incidente automobilistico. Philippe, l’unico che potesse rispondere alle richieste ricevute, potè continuare questa attività solo per pochi mesi, poi, lo scoppio della Guerra Mondiale lo obbligò ad abbandonare il suo lavoro presso la famiglia Fouquet. Nelle ultime spedizioni che furono effettuate, Philippe nascose i flaconi all’interno di libri che ritagliò accuratamente a mano, per evitare che i nazisti intercettassero i profumi.
